Calu-3 Cell culture

Bioneer:FARMA offers assessment of pulmonary transport using the Calu-3 cell culture model. The Calu-3 cell culture is a mucous producing cell line widely accepted for studies of pulmonary drug transport.

The Calu-3 cells grow on Transwell filters, like the Caco-2 cells, but do not form monolayers. Instead they are making multiple cell layers, resembling the pulmonary epithelium.
