Bioneer now offers protein production for early clinical use and can therefore help clients all the way from gene sequence to toxicological studies and first dose in Man. Recently, we have initiated collaborations with external, independent consultants which can offer our clients advice on technical and regulatory issues associated with taking biologics through the development phase to the clinical phases. Bioneer offers a full panel of protein expression services, including production in bacterial and mammalian cells. Furthermore, we are now able to offer insect cell-based protein manufacturing through our new agreement with Express2ion Biotechnologies ApS regarding the S2 insect cell system.

Bioneer:FARMA has produced a set of pre-clinical use enterocoated capsules and enterocoated tablets for Action Pharma A/S. Furthermore, Bioneer:FARMA has performed disintegration and dissolution tests of these capsules and tablets. Action Pharma A/S has appreciated Bioneer:FARMA's flexible service including very fast delivery of high quality data. Action Pharma A/S now reports that they have been successful in their project progress and have progressed to Phase III based upon positive Phase II data. Among Bioneer:FARMA offers is small-scale pilot production of capsules and tablets.

Bioneer has established a FACS facility with the newest FACS Aria III sorter from Becton Dickinson. The facility is run by highly experienced and certified trained Ph.D. level personnel with backgrounds in immunology, mammalian cell and stem cell biology respectively. We currently offer FACS services based on multicolor analyses of membrane-associated as well as intracellular protein markers like FoxP3 and several cytokines. Furthermore, we offer sorting of specific cell types from heterogeneous cell populations like whole blood, PBMCs and cell populations. Bioneer is pleased to welcome Jeanette Erbo Wern, PhD as Research Scientist within the Immune Targeting group. Jeanette has post-doctoral experience in immunology from the University of Copenhagen, especially within the field of T-cells and different models of inflammation. Jeanette has extensive expertise in cellular immunology methods including flow cytometry analysis. Through several years of working experience in the field of immunology and through her board membership in the Danish Society of Immunology, Jeanette has built a strong national and internation network of immunologist.

Bioneer has entered into the Eurostars project - HEPA-TOX – together with the Swedish company Cellartis and the Danish Company Origo Biotech. The aim of the project is to develop 3D drug screening models based on hepatocytes derived from human embryonic stem cells (ESC) for the pharmaceutical industry. The project combines ESC-derived hepatocytes already commercialized by Cellartis with new 3D-technology resulting in an in vivo-like drug screening system for determining liver-related drug metabolism, like CYP activity and liver toxicity, as well as drug interactions.  Read more about the Eurostars program here or please contact us if you have questions.
